EXPERT PIANO TUNING & REPAIR

A & A Music & Art Academy provides access to expert piano tuning and repair with Steve Smith, our expert technician. More than 20 years ago Steve came to ask about learning to tune pianos and Don Komorski, Master Piano Technician at A & A Music took him on as an apprentice.  After more than 2 years of attending Master Piano Technician classes and working with Don on recommended piano tuning and repair projects, he joined the Piano Technician Guild as well. 

As a PTG member, Steve attended classes and began tuning pianos on his own.  He would continue to grow in knowledge and expertise throughout these many years.  When Don retired, he decided Steve was the right choice to carry on with his customers and sold the business to him. 

We are very proud of Steve’s ability, expertise, and dedication as a piano technician. He now provides quality care for all our customers.  He has adopted Don’s philosophy of considering all our customers as being part of our musical family and everyone has appreciated his dedication to his craft.  It is with pride that he continues the A & A Music tradition of quality, integrity, and excellence in piano tuning and repair.  We welcome him to our A & A Music family as our resident piano technician for our students and customers in our surrounding area.  You can be confident that your piano is in the best of hands, and we appreciate your trust in our services. 

Steve tunes pianos for several area churches, schools, nursing homes, and of course, our own students.  His client base encompasses a large area of the Northwest suburbs and many of his clients have been with him for over 15 years.  He keeps a record of each piano tuned, and maintains each piano on a 6 month or annual schedule. 

The piano services we offer require our technician to see your specific piano to quote a price for a repair.  Tunings are set at a standard price but can fluctuate from time to time.
